There is an open early Byzantine church and several rooms, which are indisputable evidence of the existence of settlement life in the VI century. Some of the most interesting finds are coins from the time of Emperor Justinian, keys, iron tools, as well as fragments of glass vessels, which are typical of their time and are indisputable evidence of the existence of imports, most likely from Constantinople. The found objects testify to a very fine and good workmanship of glassware. Among the finds are weights for scales. Over the years, many weights have been discovered, a hook and a chain from a scale have recently appeared, which is proof of the existence of commercial activity in the premises located in front of the church entrance. Archaeological excavations in Gradishte near the Vratsata pass began in 2007 and have been conducted for 14 years. The first information about the inhabitation of the area is from the time of the Thracians. Then a small Roman settlement was established, which continued to exist until the fifth century. The heyday of the settlement life began during the time of early Byzantium, when a rather large church with a length of 18 meters was established.
