The church "St. Petka ”in Vukovo is late medieval, single-nave, built of quarry stones. It was probably built in the 16th century, and the frescoes date from 1598 according to the founder's inscription. In the past, the entire interior was painted, as was the western exterior wall. In 1968 the temple was declared an architectural monument, and in 1969 - an artistic cultural monument of national importance.

In general, the fresco decoration of the church "St. Petka ”in the village of Vukovo is well preserved. They testify to the development of religious painting in the Late Middle Ages in the region and in the Balkans as a whole. The frescoes are generally traditional, but there are also less common images of St. Sava the Serbian (among the earliest), St. Sylvester, the Pope, and St. Boniface. Italian influence can be clearly found in the images of soldiers, persons in profile, horsemen, flags. Due to its plasticity, wide program and masterful execution, the picturesque decoration of the church “St. Petka ”is among the masterpieces of its time.
