The canyon of the river Temska or Temštica is located in the southeastern part of Serbia. It was formed by the river Temštica, which originates near the village of Topli Do, by merging five surface streams that meet from the tops of Stara Planina (Midžora, Vražije glave, Bratkova strane and Gole glava). The river Temštica flows into Nišava, near the village of Temska, but a part of its waters flows into Nišava near Pirot via a shortcut. Temštica cut the canyon valley in its course, in the rocks cveins of color, which is why it is also called Little Colorado. The canyon of the river Temštica is one of the most beautiful and most attractive canyons in Serbia. After the canyon, the river Temštica continues to flow northwest and into it, on the left side, flows Visočica. The rivers that form Temštica have a large drop and a relatively even flow of water, due to the large amount of snow that melts from the peaks, which enabled the canyon to flow. The great fall of the tributaries of Temštica caused the formation of a large number of waterfalls in their flows. The most attractive are Čunguljski, Piski and Jelenski skok.In the village of Temštica, there is a church dedicated to the Venerable Mother Paraskeva, built at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century.
