Chitalishte "Bratstvo"

Chitalishte "Bratstvo" is the oldest cultural institution in Kyustendil region, which gave rise to the library, theater and historical museum in the city. Then an unknown calligrapher wrote in the first statute of the Chitalishte an impressive motto "Wealth is mortal, virtue is immortal". This motto has strengthened the spirit of Kyustendil for cultural revival and prosperity during the years of rise and despair, strengthens our spirit and traditions today, will maintain optimism and preserve our identity as Bulgarians in our future family of European nations.

Over the years, Chitalishte "Bratstvo" has established itself as an important center for cultural activities in the territory of Southwestern Bulgaria.
The purpose of the organization is to meet the needs of citizens related to the development and enrichment of cultural life, social and educational activities in the village where it operates, preserving the customs and traditions of the Bulgarian people, expanding the knowledge of citizens and their inclusion in the values ​​and achievements of science, art and culture.

In the foyer of the building there is a small souvenir shop, where you can meet a passionate craftswomen - Elena Slavova, who is famous with her artworks.
