The Museum of Yoghurt is located in the village of Studen Izvor - the birthplace of the discoverer of the bacterium Lactobacillus Bulgaricus - Stamen Grigorov. The bacterium that forms the characteristic taste of traditional Bulgarian yoghurt is specific to our latitudes and is difficult to obtain or grow elsewhere.

The museum itself is housed in a two-storey building, not far from the native house of Dr. Stamen Grigorov. On the first floor there is a living room, which presents the traditional interior of a typical Bulgarian house from the middle of the 19th century. On the second floor there is a library and an exhibition hall.
